Consequent Encroachment is a long name for a short idea: the 50% midpoint of an FVG. That is all it is.

Why does it need its own name? Because an FVG is a zone, not a line. When price returns, the next question is: where in the zone do you enter? CE is ICT’s answer.

Key point: entering at CE does not mean putting your stop at CE. The stop still belongs outside the entire FVG.

Consequent encroachment is the midpoint = (4,040 + 4,052) ÷ 2 = 4,046
Entry (buy): 4,046 at CE, not at the 4,052 edge.
Stop loss: 4,036 — below the entire FVG, not at CE.
Why? If the stop sat at 4,046, an ordinary $1 wobble would take you out.
Stop distance $10 · target 4,066 is $20 → 1:2 reward-to-risk
CE is where you enter. The far edge of the FVG is where you stop.
