In each drawing, grey candles show the trend before the pattern (context). Remember: every pattern needs confirmation and risk management — these are market-reading tools, not guarantees. One more thing for gold and forex traders: the six patterns that require a price gap (Kicker, Abandoned Baby and Tri-Star) are far rarer on XAUUSD and currency pairs than on stocks, because these markets trade continuously from Monday to Friday. There, gaps appear mainly at the Monday open, and occasionally around major news releases.
